TODAYNEWS.ID – In celebration of International Women’s Day, Aidha highlights the stories of three Indonesian migrant domestic workers leading peer empowerment efforts through the #BersamaBerdaya campaign.

Delivered in partnership with Campaign for Good, #BersamaBerdaya focuses on financial education, peer learning, and community support as pathways to confidence, responsibility, and long-term personal development #BersamaBerdaya is an Aidha-led campaign that builds on its long-standing work supporting migrant domestic workers through practical financial education and personal development.

Through structured training, storytelling, and community participation, the campaign provides a safe and supportive space for women to reflect on their journeys, strengthen their skills, and encourage others navigating similar situations.

#BersamaBerdaya: Education and Peer Support in Action

Launched in December 2025, #BersamaBerdaya features selected Aidha graduates as Duta Berdaya (peer mentors). Each Duta Berdaya receives grant support, storytelling and digital communication training, and opportunities to share her experience through a community-vetted platform.

The Duta Berdaya Stories

Fitria Hendrawati, Duta Berdaya, #BersamaBerdaya

For Fitria, stepping forward was not a choice but a responsibility. After her father fell seriously ill and her family lost everything, she became the breadwinner – supporting not only her child, but her parents and extended family. With limited work experience and English proficiency, she chose to rebuild her family’s stability. Working abroad was challenging, both emotionally and practically.

Determined to keep moving forward, Fitria found Aidha. What once felt complicated slowly became clear. Step by step, she strengthened her leadership skills, improved her English, and learned to make wiser financial decisions.

“There are no instant results, everything takes time and process,” she says.

As a Duta Berdaya today, she shares her experience to encourage others to approach their finances and future with greater clarity and confidence.

Siti Mujiati, Duta Berdaya, #BersamaBerdaya

Siti’s journey began with the need for stability as a single mother of two. After leaving factory work that no longer met basic standards, she sought opportunities abroad.

Being far from her children was the hardest part. Yet rather than retreat, Siti turned each challenge into a lesson – growing more patient, empathetic and disciplined.

“Through courage and education, I was able to glow up and change not only my life, but my children’s future.” Siti shares.

With financial planning and continued education, Siti completed her Bachelor’s degree, built emergency savings, and steadily supported her daughters until they were able to work overseas.

As a Duta Berdaya, she now channels her experience into leadership – empowering fellow migrant domestic workers through education.

Nur Bayani, Duta Berdaya, #BersamaBerdaya

Nur Bayani’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience shaped by learning and community support. After working abroad and saving diligently, Nur was scammed and lost her hard-earned savings – a devastating setback that forced her to start over.

Facing financial strain, she chose not to give up. Instead, she returned to learning. Through Aidha’s programmes, she strengthened her financial knowledge and confidence in managing day-to-day decisions.

“Now my English has improved, so I feel more confident, and I have improved business skills. The life challenges I face, I use what I learnt,” she shares.

Today, as a Duta Berdaya, Nur Bayani uses her experience to support peers by sharing practical lessons, reflections, and encouragement – demonstrating how education and peer support can transform setbacks into stepping stones toward stability and self-belief.
